Brisbane Riverfire 2010

Brisbane is in the middle of the Brisbane Festival, an annual cultural festival every September. I'll write more about a few of the events I've attended, but I wanted to break the blog silence with a few pictures from Riverfire, a fireworks spectacular that is the official start to the festival. I wrote about attending Riverfire last year. Not much changed this year: it still featured lots of fireworks on the river, bridges, and buildings downtown, as well as the flyover by an F-111 jet doing the dump and burn. One of my friends here in Brisbane used to work in the defence industry, and some of his friends in the Air Force took these pictures of the dump-and-burn over the city which I really wanted to share.
